How licensing works
Own a Piece of the Mr. Brand — On Your Terms.
Mr. Carpentry uses a simple, flexible, domain-style licensing model. You don’t buy a franchise. You don’t pay ongoing royalties on your revenue. You license the right to use our federally registered trademark in a protected territory — just like buying and owning a premium domain name.
Four paths, one asset
The Four Ways to Profit from Your Territory
Use It
Operate under the Mr. Carpentry name in your exclusive area. Leverage instant brand recognition to win higher-ticket jobs, charge premium rates, and build a dominant local presence.
Build & Scale
Grow your carpentry business with the power of a national-sounding brand while keeping full operational control and 100% of your revenue (minus the flat monthly licensing fee).
Hold It
Buy now and hold the territory. As the “Mr.” brands continue expanding in home services, demand for established Mr. Carpentry territories will rise. Many licensees treat strong territories as long-term assets that appreciate in value.
Re-Sell It
Sell or transfer your licensed territory (as long as the buyer assumes the license fees). Just like domain flipping, you can realize gains on territories that have gained recognition or contain high-growth markets.
Key advantage
You maintain full ownership of your business and LLC. The license is an add-on asset that enhances your brand value.
Legal & practical
How the Licensing Agreement Works
Plain-language terms so you know exactly what you receive, what you keep, and what stays with us.
-
01
What you license
We are licensing the use of our trademark (MR CARPENTRY ®, federally registered) to your company. You receive exclusive rights to use the name, branding, and associated assets within your defined territory.
-
02
What stays with us
You do not receive ownership of the trademark itself — we retain ownership, just as the owner of a premium domain retains the rights while you control its use.
-
03
Territory Protection
Your agreement grants exclusive use. No other licensee can operate under the Mr. Carpentry name in your licensed area.
-
04
Ongoing Requirements
Pay the agreed flat monthly licensing fee to keep the license active. This maintains your exclusive rights and access to brand assets.
-
05
Transferable
You may sell or assign the license to a qualified buyer (subject to our approval and the buyer agreeing to the terms). This creates real resale potential.
The long game
Why Buying & Holding Can Be Profitable
The “Mr.” brands are still early in many trades and geographies. Early movers who secure territories now are positioning themselves for:
-
Appreciation
Natural appreciation as brand awareness grows nationwide.
-
Resale
Higher resale value once the territory has active operations, reviews, and local recognition.
-
Partnering
Rental/partnering opportunities (sub-license or joint ventures while retaining the primary license).
-
Strategic
Strategic value for larger construction or home services groups looking to enter your market.
Think of it as digital real estate in the physical world: prime territories in high-population or high-home-value areas are limited and become more valuable over time.
